DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion) is now enabled for online transactions for all DCB Niyo debit card users.
This change brings you more flexibility, especially at online international merchants who don’t allow switching between INR and local currency.
THINGS TO BE NOTED What is DCC?
DCC allows you to pay in INR when transacting with international merchants. Instead of your bank, the merchant converts the amount using their own exchange rate, which may include additional charges.
If an online merchant doesn’t let you choose the local currency, you can now still complete your transaction in INR. Until now, DCC was blocked, causing some transaction declines. With DCC now enabled, customers must use their best judgment when transacting.
How to avoid any DCC charge imposed by merchant
*Pay in the local currency of the online merchant (not INR) to get a VISA exchange rate with zero forex markup.* Double-check payment options at checkout to avoid DCC charges. *Switch location/currency in the profile settings or footer of the merchant’s website when available. *Swipe smart, and avoid DCC!
